1) Simone entered the gymnastics world at age six when she visited a gymnastics center on a daycare field trip. She was impressed and intrigued by the older girls in the gym and promptly enrolled in gymnastics classes.

2) One of Biles’ proudest moments was the 2013 world championship when she outscored 2012 Olympians Kyla Ross and Aliya Mustafina and won world all-around title.

3) Biles stands only at 4’9".

4) She has been with the same coach, Aimee Boorman, since day one of her gymnastics career. She told NBC, “I always say she's like the second mom to me because she's been there since I was like 8-years-old, and so that’s 10 years that she's always been by my side.”

5) Simone has four German Sheppards.

6) Biles is the first female gymnast to win three consecutive World Championships.

7) Biles has won fourteen world championships medals, the most world championship medals won by an American woman in history. So far, she's collected two gold medals at the 2016 Olympics in Rio.

8) Simone has her own signature move called “The Biles.” The move was officially entered into the international Federation of Gymnastics’ Code of Points in 2013. The complicated, very advanced skill entails a double layout with a half-twist out. She's flattered by the naming, but still refers to the move by its technical name.

9) She started her own line of gym equipment. Her products include tumbling mats, training mats, swing bar, low training balance beams, and folding inclines. Each piece of equipment is complete with Biles’ signature. Purchase here.
