After showing editors a sneak-peak during Art Basel Miami last December, adidas today released its brand new EQT kicks, which are part of the footwear giant's Originals line.

"When EQT first came out in the nineties, the design was such that they focused only on the essential elements. There was restraint," said Nic Galway, VP of Global Design for adidas Originals, over coffee in Miami.

The lo-fi and fundamental approach was paramount to the development of the reiterated EQT designs, which include a number of new-to-market options, including a striking core color dubbed "Turbo Red." (Though it's more of a hot pink.) Nostalgic fact: The original EQT hue, from 1991, was green.

Of late, adidas, especially in the Originals vertical, has impressed in the sneaker world (even without Yeezy's Boosts). During Basel, the company released a special nighttime version of the EQT ADV with reflective laces (and gave them away with surprise drops for the public). Here, browse through EQT's Juergen Teller-shot look book, and shop the shoes here.
