After releasing a series of teaser tracks, “Hallelujah,” “In Common,” and “Back to Life” (from the upcoming biopic on Phiona Mutesi, Queen of Katwe), Alicia Keys drops a new track from her upcoming album, Here.

The song, titled “Blended Family (What You Do For Love),” featuring A$AP Rocky, is a raw account about creating a new family with her husband and producer, Swizz Beatz, and his son from previous marriage to Mashonda.

She addresses the gossip surrounding the beginning of her relationship with Beatz, “I know it started with a little drama / I hate that you had to read it in the paper” and in a powerful message to her step-son she sings, “Even though I married your father / That’s not the only reason I’m here for ya.”

“Blended Family” was executive produced by Beatz. On her Instagram account, Keys opened up about the song’s creation: “To me, family has no singular definition and the modern family is made up of all kinds of beautiful people willing to put love first. I can't wait for you to hear this whole body of work. Thank you for listening, thank you for loving, and thank you for believing in the power and magic of the music!”

Here will be Keys’s first album in four years, following Girl on Fire, and what she coined her “most raw and honest creation yet!” Listen to the song in full below.
