Loud, boisterous and anything but subtle, the Marc Jacobs Resort 2017 collection is just as fun and crazy as we would expect. The pieces are a stark contrast from the Fall 2016 collection in both color and texture, but the designer still stays true to the same bold embellishment and signature layering unique to the MJ catwalk. The pieces play into several different aesthetics, most notably an overarching '80s theme reminiscent of a style lovechild between Madonna circa "Like a Virgin" and Marc Jacobs' own creative genius. Based around neutrals black, white and military green, bold appliqués take center stage with conspicuous flowers, bows, paradise icons and MTV branding that take each piece to a bigger and better level.

Another daring look in the collection comes from the power clashing in the wide array of prints. Whether it's pairing starkly contrasting patterns like tropical and zebra on one garment or coupling cheetah boots with a neon yellow checkered mesh skirt, the line perfectly plays to its strengths. While this move would be a gamble for any other designer, we wouldn't expect anything less from Marc Jacobs—and we're loving it. This collection is one to remember and has raised the bar for resort lines to come. Check out some of V's favorite looks below.
