After unexpected information was leaked for a Pre-Fall collection back in April, the fashion world has kept a close (if not slightly confused) eye on Balenciaga.

Photographs of the collection have finally surfaced, along with a press release explaining that the looks were designed between the departure of Alexander Wang and the first runway show by Denna Gvasalia (which took place a few months ago, for the Fall/Winter 2016 season). With this in mind, the collection is a clear transition between the two creative directors. Vetements accents are detectable throughout the lookbook, particularly with thigh-high stiletto heeled boots and dainty floral prints as key features. The collection does, however, stay true to Balenciaga sophistication; proportions are generally oversized and clean cut, working the Balenciaga windowpane grid pattern, the archival Vichy check, into the focal design. Along with the statement "Balenciaga" prints on select garments, yellow block colors add a playful zest to the collection, and an exciting, although subtle, tweak to the brand.
