Natasha Khan, aka Bat for Lashes, returned to form with her first new track, “In God’s House,” since her 2012 album The Haunted Man. Technically, though, she released new music just last October, but under a new name: Sex Witch.

This new song, as Bat for Lashes, is taken from the newly announced LP The Bride. In the track’s video accompaniment, co-directed by John de Menil, Khan mourns at a grave in the middle of the desert. It is likely that the shrine is in remembrance of Khan’s fictious husband, assuming she is the bride. On the album she writes:

The Bride follows the story of a woman whose fiancé has been killed in a crash on the way to the church for their wedding. The Bride flees the scene to take the honeymoon trip alone, resulting in a dark meditation on love, loss, grief, and celebration.”

We're looking forward to the story set to unfold with the new album. If there is anyone to deliver a convincing narrative, in lyrical and visual form, it’s Bat for Lashes.
