The British Fashion Council announced this morning the latest recipients to receive support from NEWGEN, the council's initiative, sponsored by Topshop, to support up-and-coming designers. Ashley Williams, Danielle Romeril, Faustine Steinmetz, Marta Jakubowski, Molly Goddard, Ryan Lo and Sadie Williams are all recurring winners with womenswear designer Paula Knorr joining the prestigious ticket as the newest recipient. The winners will receive financial and professional support from the council, from individualized mentoring to business training and special showings during London Fashion Week. Each designer will hold pop-up showcases in London's Brewer Street Car Park this September while Molly Goddard, Ryan Lo and Ashley Williams will also each host runway shows.

The initiative was founded in 1993 by the council as a way to provide budding designers the opportunity to grow their business and leave a permanent mark in the fashion industry. Previous recipients include the likes of Alexander McQueen, Simone Rocha and J.W. Anderson and is one of the most coveted initiatives in the industry.
