To celebrate the tenth anniversary of luxury perfumery Byredo, founder Ben Gorham introduces a directionless, nameless fragrance. Without the influence of words or a description, wearers are invited to create an individual name for the scent guided by their own feelings and memories. The bottle itself comes with a blank personalization kit including letter transfers, leaving the process completely up for interpretation. Gorham’s long time business partner and perfumer Jerome Epinette is responsible for the formulation as well as those of the brand’s past cult fragrances like Gypsy Water and Flowerhead. Although it has no previous associations, the perfume does have a particular scent with notes including violet, tree moss, fir balsam, and pink pepper. While the muse is intentionally open ended, we can’t help but imagine the inspiration for the brand’s latest launch.
