On Tuesday, French singer and songwriter Christine and the Queens covered Beyonce’s Lemonade hit “Sorry” on the BBC’s Radio 1 Live Lounge. She sang the second verse in French and gave the song a synth-pop twist by coupling it with her signature dance moves.

The French pop sensation has recently sparked quite a following in the U.S. Inspired by the performances of local drag queens, her work blends music, performance, photography, and art. Just last fall, Christine toured North America with Marina and the Diamonds as promotion for the release of her first English EP, Saint Claude. Earlier this summer, she also covered Prince’s “I Would Die 4 U” alongside HAIM at Boston Calling.

Watch below for an unexpectedly upbeat version of Beyonce's post-breakup anthem.

Christine also performed her own song “Tilted” from Saint Claude.
