Reaching the 7th week of our CreatiVity program, V has found a soulful singer and songwriter. With the help of Quadio—a new social streaming platform dedicated to serving up the best new college music—we found our pick of the week. She goes by the name, Divine Lotus.

Born and raised in NY and of Caribbean descent, Kayla John’s musical inspiration is distinct. Turning towards Bob Marley, J.Cole, Lauryn Hill and more to create her own musical path. For Divine, her goal is to connect to her culture using faith and spirituality as a guide. This also guides her in the writing process, helping her connect with people who might have shared feelings or been in similar experiences she has. The end result of this approach—captivating lyrics and beats. With the hope to help the next generation of creatives, we are proud to have Divine Lotus as V’s Pick of the Week.
