The 2004 modern classic Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is the next film to fall into the traps of TV remakes. The film was made famous for its usage of nonlinear narration and fusion of romance in a semi-alternate universe, and of course, the flawlessly awkward chemistry between Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet, an unlikely cinematic duo.

Michel Gondry’s original romantic sci-fi drama sets a high bar for the TV adaptation, which will be produced by Anonymous Content and Universal Cable Productions, and written by Chuck's Zev Borow. None of the original cast members or writers, or Gondry himself, are involved in the adaptation. Of course, skepticism has arisen throughout the Eternal Sunshine fandom, with many wondering just how true the remake will be to its predecessor. Whether you're grinding your teeth with excitement or distrust, the project is only in its early stages. More to follow on who else jumps on board for this iconic remake in the making.
