It looks like Lee Daniels (the man behind Empire) is bringing some more of his musical series magic to a new show, “Star.” The series, coming to FOX, is being co-produced with Tom Donaghy and aims to “pull back the curtain on music’s gritty and dark reality.”

The storyline follows two sisters, Star and Simone, played by relative newcomers Jude Demorest and Brittany O’Grady, respectively, as they move to Atlanta to live with their Godmother played by Grammy Award-winner Queen Latifah. Once there, they set their sights on becoming the next big thing in music. Whether that happens or not, the narrative will likely be full of drama, a lot of which is teased in the trailer below.

Other featured actors include Lenny Kravitz and Benjamin Bratt. And if Lee Daniels stays true to form, we can expect many, many, more celebrity appearances.
