In a time when the rights and protections of the LGBT community are threatened, any positive and uplifting representation is more than welcome. That’s exactly what Fletcher is doing with her new music video. The rising pop star and V Girl has unveiled the clip for “Wasted Youth,” the haunting power ballad that premiered on V last year, giving us the perfect visual to evoke those feelings that come with the reckless behavior and insecurity of our youth.

The video was created with her close friend Ryan Hutchins by capturing spontaneous, intimate moments with her female lover on an iPhone. The duo roams LA streets and sandy beaches late at night, stopping into an empty laundromat and IHOP as their love visibly blossoms. It’s a beautiful representation of LGBT identity that doesn’t present it as a big deal, keeping it as normal and colorful as it should be. Watch below.
