Retail giant H&M recently announced plans to launch Arket, described as a “modern-day market that will offer essential products for men, women, children and home.” The product price range is set to be higher than H&M's usual fast fashion prices, with merchandise priced up to $120. The new retail brand will sell Arket brand products as well as items from labels outside the H&M network.

London's Regent Street will inaugurate Arket's first brick and mortar retail store in the fall of this year with online trading available to 18 European countries and consecutive stores slated to open in Munich, Brussels and Copenhagen. "We really believe it’s relevant to a modern customer to bring different brands together—under one roof, under one channel—and to make that choice for them and also make it more convenient," claims Arket’s creative director, Ulrika Bernhardtz.

Additionally, shoppers and foodies who have always dreamed of an interchange of both worlds will delight in Arket's café concept which will feature Nordic-style eateries that Bernhardtz notes will, "make the modern-day market a destination where you can both shop and enjoy healthy food."

The Arket brand is the latest addition to H&M's brand set which includes notable brands such as COS, & Other Stories and Monki.
