Abel Tesfaye, aka The Weeknd, debuts his latest music video for “In The Night” and the sinister mini-film features his girlfriend, model Bella Hadid. With jet-black hair and piercing blue eyes, Bella is often cast as the rebel antithesis to her cherubic model sister, Gigi. Sure, her proximity to Tesfaye is likely the reason she appears in the music video, but she also falls perfectly into the dark aesthetic the singer has created, an embodiment he admitted to Rolling Stone in the retelling of how the couple met: “"I actually asked her to be on the artwork for Beauty Behind the Madness."

She declined that offer, but clearly a collaboration was meant to be. The lo-fi, BRTHR duo-directed, film sees Hadid as a bondage-dressed dancer-turned-assassin, saving Tesfaye from execution. You won’ t find any helpless ladies here. The finale plays out like a Kill Bill blood bath, with the women wielding all the weapons.

The video comes after The Weeknd’ s broadcasted performance of the track at the Victoria’ s Secret Fashion Show, and the two scenes could not be further from each other.
