Julia Michaels is back at it again. After the success of her debut smash hit “Issues,” pop’s go-to songwriter-turned-breakout artist has released her follow-up single “Uh Huh,” a track with the potential to get even more lodged in your brain than “Issues” did. Produced by Mattman & Robin, and penned by Julia herself, the song starts out as a guitar-pop number straight from the early 2000s with staggered lines and plucky strings before it ramps up into a unique chorus.

It's those bizarro moments that make “Uh Huh” so irresistibly catchy. Julia growls and pleads her way through the jagged and bombastic chorus, complete with jazzed-up piano moments, gritty bass, and heavenly harmonies. “Uh-huh! I think you’re movin’ in too close,” she sings on the emotionally conflicted track, “but I think that it’s my body wanting it the most!” With “Uh Huh,” Julia affirms her signature sound of quirky minimalist pop that hits the heartstrings and won’t leave your head for days. Consider yourself warned. Listen below.
