After more than four years, Justin Bieber has made a grand return to his solo music endeavors with the release of “Yummy”, a bubbly track off of his forthcoming fifth studio album. In March 2019, Bieber announced that he would be taking a hiatus from music to focus on his mental health, so naturally, Beliebers were shocked at midnight last night when the song first hit. Already gracing radio stations across the country, the superstar singer’s latest melody is certainly making a big splash as it rapidly dominates the top charts. 

Boasting an ecstatic sentiment in “Yummy”, Bieber sings about a fond lover, presumably his wife Hailey Bieber, and harmonizes the sweet words, “I’m elated that you are my lady.” Amidst a myriad of carefully suggestive, sexual innuendos and the unanimity of techno synths, Bieber amplifies his gratitude for his wife’s unconditional affection. The melody is contagious, the lyrics make you want to fall in love, and the new track is undoubtedly ringing in the new decade on a very positive note.
