Kappa Taps Activewear Label KORAL For An Elevated Athleisure Capsule

It’s time to take streetwear to the gym.

Legendary Italian sportswear brand Kappa called upon luxe LA-based activewear label KORAL for an all-encompassing, 13-piece capsule collection for the contemporary woman. A collection that resides at the intersection of street style and workout wear, this one-of-a-kind collaboration boasts a fusion of the two highly acclaimed brands’ individual strengths. 

Reinterpreting classic silhouettes, the range features striking prints atop bold colorways and utilizes advanced premium activewear fabrics sourced from across the globe. Led by Creative Director of KORAL Ilana Kugel, who in 2019 was inducted into the CFDA, the KORAL x Kappa collection came into fruition with Kugel’s design-with-purpose approach to modern style and athleisure. Among the multitude of statement pieces present in the collection, a vivid and elevated jumpsuit and dramatically wide-legged track pants claim prominence. Additionally, matching sports bras and leggings, oversized windbreakers, a hoodie, a dress, and various t-shirts round out the fully-equipped line of high-fashion activewear.

“I’ve known and followed Kappa since I was young, growing up in Brazil, where the brand is heavily involved in the soccer leagues, so this partnership felt both familiar and natural for KORAL,” says Kugel. “To have the opportunity to align ourselves with such an iconic and respected Italian sport heritage brand, really sets a dynamic tone for who we are in the fashion industry. With the KORAL x Kappa collection, I wanted to dive into the streetwear category that Kappa is so well known for, and provide our customers with edgy, 90s inspired pieces that would complement KORAL’s luxury activewear vibe,”.

With the well-versed model Ashley Moore fronting the collection’s campaign imagery, the double-take worthy collaboration was conceptualized with the intent of providing women around the world with signature styles that enhance their self-confidence and instill an empowered sense of body positivity. 

“We have found great success with Kappa’s activewear in Europe and have been interested in exploring this sector of the brand in the US,” says Lorenzo Boglione, VP of Sales at Kappa. “To successfully do this, we knew we needed to collaborate with a brand that would combine functionality with wear-ability in the same way we do and believe KORAL to be the perfect fit for the modern American woman.”
