After the anxiety-inducing event that was the first Presidential Debate of the election, it is more important than ever to remind people—especially newly eligible voters—of the massive importance of voting. Enter self-proclaimed queen of the general public Katy Perry, who has collaborated with Funny or Die to make a short promoting the ease of voting this November.

The video sees Perry wake up at 10AM on Election Day in your mom’s patriotic pajama set, complete with popcorn and a lollipop stuck in her hair, and telling us how easy it is to get up and vote. We follow her to a polling station as she reminds us that your typical straight-out-of-bed looks are constitutionally permitted while voting, including adult onesies, superhero underwear, and those free t-shirts given out at boring corporate events. All looks, except the au natural look, sadly.

As Perry strips off her pajamas and declares that she will vote naked, two police officers put a stop to the madness and correct her on her actual constitutional rights—which don’t include voting naked. The master of gimmicks gets taken into custody, where she is joined in the vehicle by comedian Joel McHale, who was arrested for the same crime of course.

Putting the video’s cheesy plot aside, it serves as an effective reminder of just how simple it is to vote, and the impact one can make just by showing up and checking a box. Perry, an ardent Clinton supporter for multiple years, is more than aware of the greater impact of the stunt, tweeting yesterday about her plan to “use my body for clickbait to change the world” to tease the video.
