Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj, bolstered by a Fatboy Slim interpolation and a sample of Robyn's  “Show Me Love,” have teamed up for what can only be described as a diva-off. “Swish Swish,” set to appear on Perry’s forthcoming album, Witness, is a track steeped in pop, hip-hop, and house. Perry swaggers about the track, with sharp vocals talking about her being “a courtside queen.”

Unsurprisingly, Nicki’s featured verse steals the show here: perfectly melded with the deep house bass that drives the song along, she boasts about putting “silly rap beefs” to rest and “makin’ hits with Katy,” going so far as to call her a queen. If Minaj herself calls you a queen how could you not be one?

Early critics of the song have deemed it a jab at Taylor Swift; friends of the singer, namely Ruby Rose, have reacted in suit. Whether or not the song starts beef or not, Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj couldn't possibly be bothered with the haters.

Witness is slated for a June 9th release, Perry’s first full-length album since 2013’s Prism. Listen to “Swish Swish” featuring Nicki Minaj below.
