Say what you want about her music—though if you say that you don't enjoy at least one of her number one singles, we'll know you're lying—but there's no denying that Katy Perry is one of the sharpest minds in the music business. She is a continual member of Forbes' Celebrity 100 List (she came in at #3 last year) with her best selling albums, H&M commercials, beauty contracts, and sold out world tours (not to mention that Piece of Me documentary, which may or may not have brought a tear to our eyes). Now, Perry is adding a new item to her list of entrepreneurial endeavors: a shoe line.

In partnership with Global Brands Group, the collection will retail in department and specialized stores and online for the spring 2017 season. Based on the sketches the singer released, it's safe to say that the footwear will reflect the cartoonish and over-the-top style for which the California Gurl has come to be known (often in custom Jeremy Scott, with whom she has a longstanding relationship). One of the sketches even looks like it might have taken a bit of inspiration from Miuccia Prada's infamous race car shoes.

“It’s been a creative goal of mine to be a real contributor in the affordable fashion space,” Perry told WWD. “Launching a footwear collection felt like a natural first step for me. After years of investigating and researching partnerships to find the right fit for the debut of my line, I found that Global Brands most resonated with my artistic ideas. They understand my vision, my eye for detail, and have the international reach and resources to bring my canvas of ideas to life.”

Check out the sketches below, and be sure to stay tuned for more updates regarding Perry's first—but sure to not be last—forays into footwear design.
