Kiesza, whose disco-infused dance hit "Hideaway" became a worldwide phenomenon after its release in 2014 (it reached 500 million global streams), returns today with a new single and accompanying video. Titled "Dearly Beloved," the track was produced by three-time Grammy winner Stuart Price, and is reminiscent of Prince. If we had to guess, we'd say the title is a direct homage to the late singer, whose song "Let's Go Crazy" famously begins with: "Dearly beloved/ We are gathered here today/ To get through this thing called life." It's a fitting reference, considering Kiesza's track is about her friend who recently passed away.

In a statement, Kiesza said: "When my best friend Alice passed away nearly a year and a half ago, her white electric guitar was passed along to me. In her memory and because I love her so much, I promised myself that I would not let it sit in its case collecting dust. I was going to play the hell out of it, just as she would have done. So that’s what I’m doing. Inspired by her and all of you, I am absolutely ecstatic to be able to start off this new chapter with my new song, 'Dearly Beloved.'"

The video for the track shows the singer-songwriter in an all-white room wearing a colorful ensemble, holding her friend's electric guitar, doing what she does best: dancing. The clip for "Hideaway" went viral, in part, due to its dance routine, performed on the streets of Williamsburg. Watch the video for "Dearly Beloved" below, which is expected to be the first of many new releases from Kiesza in 2017.
