In her latest film, Once and Forever, Kristen Stewart becomes the iconic Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel, a role given to her by current Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld. Lagerfeld, ever the man in charge of his own vision, is also the short’ s director, and has consistently released Chanel-related films around the debut of the brand’s Metiers d’ Art collections, for years. This year’s showing debuts in Rome, at the city’s famous film studio Cinecittà, and is aptly dubbed Paris-Rome.Once and Forever plays out like a film within a film, a fictional documentation of the making of a biopic. Stewart technically plays herself, playing a young Coco. Other familiar faces—plucked from Lagerfeld's close group of friends—include Sebastien Jondeau and model-muse Jamie Bochert.
