Soon after announcing that legendary Fleetwood Mac frontwoman Stevie Nicks would appear on her record, V108 cover star Lana Del Rey announced collaborations with both A$AP Rocky and Playboi Carti off her upcoming record, Lust For Life (July 21). The two new tracks, "Summer Bummer" and "Groupie Love", premiered on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 radio show .

“I felt like I was getting into this mid tempo groove," she said, referencing past releases "High By The Beach" and "Freak" off of her 2015 LP, Honeymoon. "Now I’m all the way in." Both songs make use of heavy, trap beats and the ethereal, atmospheric vibes that Lana is known for. Boy Wonder-produced "Summer Bummer," which features both rappers, is built around a melancholic piano base, described by Lowe as "menacing." Her breathy refrain of "hip-hop in the summer/ Don't be a bummer, babe," is complimented by Rocky's verse: “Her sophistication make you want to quit the bitch you datin'."

"Groupie Love" is the more laid back of the two, with Lana once again in the role of languid lover. She bemoans how "It's so hard sometimes with a star/ When you have to share him with everybody" over the same gnashing trap that moves "Summer Bummer." It's the same sensual pain that all of her music exudes.

Lana tells Lowe that over the years, she and Rocky have intermittently gone in and out of the studio. "There are probably a lot of tracks that we're both on, just over the years — we do them and forget about them," she laughs. Outside of  these forgotten tracks and the few demos that die-hard fans have dug up, the two new tracks are Lana and Rocky's first official collaborations after a long artistic relationship that started all the way back in her Born to Die era when they starred as Jackie O and JFK in the “National Anthem” video.
