It's not coming now, but soon.

Last night, on the eve of her birthday, Lorde shared a lengthy note on her Facebook page, which serves as a long overdue update on her life, and most importantly to music fans, her sophomore album.

Written “FROM THE DESK OF A NEWBORN ADULT,” the note begins by touching on the end of her teenage years—today, she turns 20. “I was 16 when most of us met. Can you believe it? I laugh thinking about that me now - that glossy idiot god, princess of her childhood streets, handmade and ugly and sure of herself.

All my life I’ve been obsessed with adolescence, drunk on it. Even when I was little, I knew that teenagers sparkled. I knew they knew something children didn’t know, and adults ended up forgetting.”

Following that, she dives right into her new album, which she’s currently finishing up in New York City, and already has a title—though she’s not sharing it just yet. She claims to have written the best lyrics of her life, and that in time it will all be worthwhile. When the album is coming isn’t exactly clear, but it’s not “tomorrow, or even next month realistically, but soon.”

Finally, she promises, “What I'm trying to say is: this is a special birthday. The party is about to start. I am about to show you the new world.” We can’t wait.
