After the release of "Green Light," Lorde's been busy making her live performance comeback, from a critically-acclaimed turn on SNL to a recent stint on KROQ's Weenie Roast. The 20-year-old Kiwi pop singer is now headed to this year's Governors Ball in New York City, and she's taking a fan with her. The singer reportedly stopped at a Liquiteria and ended up giving her cashier tickets to the sold-out festival on Randall's Island where she will take the stage alongside Phoenix, Childish Gambino, and more.

After solidifying any doubts that she is, in fact, one of the sweetest people in the music industry, Lorde posted two cryptic tweets mere hours ago that would seem to hint at a new single being released this Friday. After having shared new track "Homemade Dynamite" at Coachella, we can only assume this is the most obvious tease of all time.

Compare the frenetic energy of "Green Light" to the somber "Liability", and you can see the new record will be a mixed bag in the best possible way; it's exciting to think about how Friday's release will fit into the intricate portrait of teases Lorde is setting up. In a follow-up tweet, she further hypes up the music: "this next song is like my favourite thing I’ve ever done. It truly sounds like nothing I’ve heard in the best way.”

Lorde is set to release Melodrama on June 16. Watch the video for "Green Light" below.
