M.I.A. has shared a new track, “Goals,” in advance of her headlining performance at next week’s Meltdown Festival. The song was produced by Branko, who worked with the artist on her most recent album AIM, and sees her get more atmospheric and centered than her earlier productions, without losing her sharp edge. “Pick up your receiver, I’ll make you a believer,” she spouts atop the calm synths and fuzzy basslines, as assured and confident as ever.

According to her message on YouTube, “Goals” is dedicated to her hardcore fans that have stayed loyal through all of the ups and downs. “THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNFALTERING DEDICATION AND SUPPORT. YOU HAVE GIVEN ME A SLIVER OF HOPE IN HUMANITY. STAY STRONG. REALITY WINNERZ,” the video description reads, along with a plea to “PLEASE VOTE,” referring to the upcoming general election in the UK.

The new track was accompanied by a video featuring GIFs of M.I.A. and her shows by photographer Jamie Martinez. The art will be displayed during Meltdown, which the artist curated, kicking off on Friday. Other acts on the line-up include Crystal Castles, Mykki Blanco, and Young M.A. Listen to “Goals" below.
