Tell me how you first heard about the contest.

KO I follow V on Instagram and also Ford Models, and they have been promoting it a lot and I was just looking at their website and they have a huge banner on Ford Models “Enter Here for V.” Every single social media caption they will be like “To Become a Model Click This Link.”

What were you doing when you found out you made it?

KO I had just gotten back from walking my dog. I was in my kitchen and I remember this specifically. I was reaching for some Wheat Thins my mom calls me and said, "Are you sitting down?" I was like "No why?" And she was like "You need to sit down" and then she told me. I felt like I was on the Truman Show!

Tell me a little about the shoot—flying out to L.A., working with Gia and Arianne.

KO They told me I won and that I needed to go in two days to L.A. It was at the Pink Motel which was had really cool vibes; I liked the aesthetic of it. There were such beautiful clothes and Gia was so cool. She was this like quirky, photography nerd. She wasn’t pretentious at all. She was so down to earth. The shoot was really vintage and really old school because it was shot on film. Also they made us look like dolls, me and Elise. Like together we were just totally not who we really are. We were really dolls.

Were you nervous?

KO No, not at all.

When did you first know you wanted to be a model?

KO I've always been really tall and so it was like a thing. My friends and family were like, "Oh you’ve got to be a model." I suck at sports. So that wasn’t a thing. I couldn't be a basketball player so what else can you do when you're tall? You can model. So really when I was young I would watch America's Next Top Model and stuff like that. When you're little you always want to be a Victoria's Secret model. Then I kinda grew up and was like I would love to do that. I really want to walk for all of these amazing brands like Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Valentino, so I've always wanted to since I was probably 12.

That story will be appearing in our Fashion & Film issue, which played into the inspiration behind the shoot. Are there any movies that really inspired you growing up?

KO I love anything by Quentin Tarantino. That’s what kind of reminded me of Pulp Fiction. The whole vibe from that movie really I think was the same vibe in L.A.—but way less bloody.

What are you doing when you're not modeling?

KO I am still a senior in high school. So everyday from 7-2 chugging at school. Then afterwards I love working out. I love pilates and yoga, so I do that everyday.

What are you interested in besides modeling?

KO I love politics and eventually the goal is to go to law school. I am really nerdy. I really like economics and stats! That’s my thing.

Would you ever consider moving to New York?

KO Yeah. It's already in the works!
