After previously unheard Bowie vocals surfaced last month, it has now been reported that a new David Bowie documentary revolving around the star’s last two albums and musical, Lazarus, will air on the BBC in January.

David Bowie: The Last Five Years, will be released as part of a series of radio tributes to coincide with what would have been the artist’s 70th birthday. In addition to interviews with the director and cast of Lazarus, the film will feature previously unheard original vocals from the musical, rare Bowie performances from his archive, and New York’s 55 bar, where Bowie met the jazz quartet who became his band on Blackstar.

It will be directed and produced by the same filmmaker behind 2013's Bowie: Five Years, Francis Whately. “I always hoped that I would make another film about Bowie as we were only able to scratch the surface in the first film,” Whately said. “I just didn’t expect it to be this soon.
