After relentlessly teasing her fans with song lyrics on her Instagram story a few weeks back, Selena Gomez finally makes her return to the music scene with a new single "It Ain't Me." The song is a collaboration with Norwegian DJ Kygo, and is the Disney-star-turned-pop singer's first musical endeavor since her guest vocals on Charlie Puth's "We Don't Talk Anymore" in 2016.

Gomez, 24, starts her first verse with what might be some of her most mature lyrics to date. "I had a dream/ We were sipping whiskey neat/ Highest floor, The Bowery/ And I was high enough/ Somewhere along the lines/ We stopped seeing eye to eye/ You were staying out all night/ And I had enough."

Over a strumming guitar and various piano chords, Gomez laments that she doesn't know where her lover has been or where he's going, but this time around he is on his own. And when the chorus of the song arrives and Kygo's beat drops, it's clear that Gomez is done and she is not having any of it (and we're definitely rooting for her to prevail).

"Who's gonna walk you through the dark side of the morning?/ Who's gonna rock you when the sun won't let you sleep?/ Who's waking up to drive you home when you're drunk and all alone?/ Who's gonna walk you through the dark side of the morning?/ It ain't me."

The pop star's former boyfriend Justin Bieber comes to mind when first hearing the song. A relationship gone wrong due to a certain someone's hard partying habits? Sounds a bit familiar. Gomez's new boyfriend The Weeknd may have gotten in on the Bieber diss action too with a verse he did on Toronto rapper Nav's new song "Some Way."

The Weeknd sings, "I think your girl, think your girl, fell in love with me/ She say my f--k and my tongue game a remedy." Whether any of these lyrics are directly about Bieber has yet to be confirmed, but all evidence is pointing in his direction.

Regardless, Gomez will have a busy year working as an executive producer on Netflix's new show 13 Reasons Why, and with her third studio album being released. If the rest of her album is anything like this single, we can certainly expect good music coming our way. And maybe we can expect an angry song from Bieber in response.
