Balenciaga, newly helmed by Demna Gvasalia, taps art photographer Harley Weir for the brand’s Spring 2017 ad campaign. The campaign's faces include models Grace Bol and Shujin Zhou, and New York City-based model Eliza Douglas. The latter has also frequently modeled for Gvasalia’s cult streetwear brand Vetements.

Given the designer’s well-known clique of creative collaborators, and his penchant for using them as models, it should come as no surprise that Weir walked in Vetements’s Fall 2015 show. The brand’s in-house stylist Lotta Volkova frequently walks in shows, and recently Russian designer Gosha Rubchinskiy modeled Vetements’s menswear.

Here, Weir blends her suggestive sensual aesthetic with Balenciaga’s spandex- and latex-heavy Spring collection, which was “an exploration of the intimate relationship between couture and fetishism.”
