Today, V is premiering the first three films from Take Me to Cannes, a series of short films shot by Juergen Teller for the Barneys New York Fall 2016 campaign. This marks the first time that Teller has shot short films for a fashion campaign.

The clips, filmed only on Teller’s iPhone, were shot on location at Cannes Film Festival. But rather than taking advantage of the festival’s iconic red carpet or public screening venues, Teller and co. opted to shoot in more obscure locations on site, such as a private villa and the pool of art collector and photographer Jean Pigozzi, providing an intriguing outsider view of a legendary (insider's) event.

The films premiering on V highlight model Lily McMenamy decked out in Valentino and Margiela garb, as they display captivating peculiarities. They make you feel uncomfortable as they try to be hospitable in a blatantly humorous way. In usual Teller fashion, the videos are raw, somewhat candid, and flat-out weird, but we wouldn’t want them any other way. They make for a puzzling yet fascinating watch—New York in a nutshell.

“Throughout the six consecutive years of partnership, Barneys and Juergen have developed a visual language through photography that is both personal and unique,” Barneys Creative Director Dennis Freedman said in a statement. "We value this long-term relationship, and are proud of the work we do together, which is always a reflection of our shared creative vision.”

The campaign features men’s and women’s ready-to-wear pieces and accessories from fashion houses including Balenciaga, Givenchy, Céline, Saint Laurent, and The Row. The images also highlight Barneys XO styles from designer collections like Burberry, Giuseppe Zanotti, Proenza Schouler, and Vetements.

Watch the premiere of two more films below, and stay tuned for more from Take Me to Cannes.
