Much like Lorde’s return with “Green Light,” Mike Hadreas’s first new track in three years comes with a mystical music video that aptly sets the stage for the album. Hadreas, who is better known as Perfume Genius, teamed up with director Andrew Thomas Huang for “Slip Away,” a pink-hued and soft-lit video that sees Hadreas dancing with a female friend. It’s all a bit like Alice in Wonderland.

On the video, Huang tells Fader, "Mike said that the album, and 'Slip Away' particularly, had a lot to do with finding kinship and companionship with his female friends...so I just came up with the idea of a video where Mike is opposite a really close friend. They're like two sisters on the run from the man, you know? They had to be running from something, so I had the idea of them running from little schoolboys, but we would cast old men that kind of look like Donald Trump. So we created these Trump gremlins that organically became the villains of this fairy tale world."

“Slip Away” comes off of Perfume Genius’s forthcoming album, No Shape, which will be released May 5.
