This morning, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced their nominees for induction into the museum next year. The nominees include legendary acts like Pearl Jam, Janet Jackson, and Tupac Shakur, as well as long-standing artists like Chaka Khan, Depeche Mode, Journey, and Joan Baez. Shakur and Pearl Jam are nominated in their first year of eligibility.

The induction committee is making an unusual move and letting the public have a say in who gets nominated. Fans can vote online at rockhall.com for the nominee they want to see inducted, and the top five vote-getters will be counted as a single ballot alongside the hundreds of artists and music industry workers who get to vote. Other artists up for consideration include Jane’s Addiction, Electric Light Orchestra, Kraftwerk, the Cars, and Chic, who has been nominated for the 11th time (someone just let them in already).

The five inductees will be announced in December and the induction ceremony will take place in April at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
