THE AVANT POP AND ELECTRONICA QUEEN HAS A NEW ALBUM

Text: Ian David Monroe

It took eight years for Roisin Murphy to follow up her stellar album Overpowered, but not even eight months to release a new album after last year’s Mercury Prize-nominated Hairless Toys. Today, the singer has announced Take Her Up To Monto, and released the LP's first track “Mastermind.” Here, and on eight other songs, Murphy teams up with frequent collaborator Eddie Stevens for pure pulsating and shimmery electronica. With the new record, the singer has also announced new tour dates, below:

6/19 Reykyavik, Iceland—Secret Solstice

6/22-26 Somerset, England—Glastonbury Festival

7/15-17 Dublin, Ireland—Longitude

8/13 Budapest, Hungary—Sziget Festival

8/19  Hasselt, Belgium—Pukkelpop

8/28 Kingham, England—The Big Feastival

9/1-4 Portmeirion, Wales—Festival No. 6
