Saint Laurent is launching a couture-training program starting this fall, with a focus on sustainability in fashion.

Francesca Belletini, Saint Laurent’s president and CEO, announced the house’s partnership with Parisian schools Institut Français de la Mode and the École de la Chambre Syndical de la Couture Parisienne to create the six-month program focusing on sartorial techniques, innovation, and sustainability, starting this September. A fitting choice of partnerships, as Yves Saint Laurent himself attended the ECSCP.

The Couture Savoir Faire Training Program is part of a pledge by Saint Laurent’s parent company Kering to bring a greater awareness to sustainability. “Preserving our heritage while evolving and being very relevant in our epoch is a pillar of our strategy, and investing in talents is an imperative condition to build on our success even further,” Belletini said in a statement. “I am very proud of this partnership with such renowned and prestigious institutions such as the IFM and the ECSCP, which will greatly contribute to the implementation of our strategy."
