The full-length trailer for the controversial action thriller Ghost in the Shell, is here and it’s surreal, intense, and beautiful. The film is a live-action adaption of an anime film, which came from a manga book. The new trailer has scenes that match many of the stills from the original trailer.

Scarlett Johansson’s portrayal of leading character Major Motoko Kusanagi has caused just controversy due to whitewashing. The Major, though technically a cyborg, is originally of Asian decent. Johansson is not. Despite the debate, the film shows incredible promise, and given Johannson’s impressive track record for playing a strong, kick-ass protagonist (Black Widow in The Avenger series) and robot (Lucy).

Ghost in the Shell debuts on March 31, 2017.
