Is there a better metaphor for the singer's career?

Harry Styles has released his first solo music video this morning for “Sign of the Times,” a single off of his self-titled album.

The video sees Styles flying high above the Isle of Skye in Scotland, hovering over waterfalls, pines, a lake, and grasslands, alone in stunning locations. At one point he even walks on water, crooning with arms spread wide in a white sweater, dark jeans, and a navy overcoat—quintessentialy British dressing.

The film ends as he ascends into a sunset breaking through clouds—an apt scene, given the lyrics “Have the time of your life/Breaking through the atmosphere/And things are pretty good from here/Remember everything will be alright.” Styles has certainly escaped from the fandom and paparazzi of the world below, flying alone above the madness. Apparently, the singer shot the stunts himself, reaching heights of 1,550 feet in the video without a green screen or effects.

If the popularity of “Sign of the Times” is any indication, Harry’s solo career post 1D will be just fine. Check out the video below, and decide for yourself.
