On Earth Day, April 22, thousands came out for the March For Science at the nation's capital, as a call to action for visibility surrounding the climate change crisis.

The demonstration, which also took place in over 600 cities across the world, served as a celebration of sound science and its crucial impact on society.  With the Trump administration's recent actions to repeal an executive order made by President Obama that helped combat climate change, the March For Science reminds us that, "Science protects the health of our communities, the safety of our families, the education of our children, the foundation of our economy and jobs, and the future we all want to live in and preserve for coming generations."

On the importance of taking a stance, the march noted, "We speak up now because all of these values are currently at risk. When science is threatened, so is the society that scientists uphold and protect."

Amongst attendees was scientist and television host, Bill Nye who came out to show his support. The beloved "Science Guy" delivered this message to fellow demonstrators: "We are marching today to remind people everywhere, our lawmakers especially, of the significance of science for our health and prosperity."
