Rising indie-pop star Tei Shi has announced that her debut album, Crawl Space, will finally be released on March 31. To give us a little piece of what’s to come, she also released a new single, “Keep Running,” and unveiled its accompanying video.

“Keep Running” plays in a similar vein to her previous hypnotic slow grooves “See Me” and “Bassically,” yet it sounds like Tei Shi’s most accomplished work yet. The intensified bass and soft-hitting synths ramp up her emotional and yearning vocals, while lines like “Every time I look over my shoulder, I’m getting older” hits right in the gut every single time.

The video is no less hypnotic than the track, as the artist takes hold of the camera and keeps you hooked no matter what she does, whether its serving fierce and sensual choreography or lounging around in silk PJs trying to make sense of her love life. She also gives us '90s karaoke moments throughout, turning the video into the most glam and sullen house party of all time.

Tei Shi may have been a long time coming, but “Keep Running” feels like the debut of an artist properly establishing her musical identity with plenty of potential for success.
