The cryptic 4:44 advertisements plastered on every corner of New York City have been turning heads for weeks.  Rap enthusiasts and online sleuths analyzed teasers and clues released from Tidal, concluding that this project was a Jay Z-produced film starring Mahershala Ali, Lupita Nyong’o, and Danny Glover. Now, Tidal has announced more details about the mysterious project.

Tidal and Sprint have confirmed 4:44 is not a movie; rather, it's the title of Jay Z's 13th solo album. It will be Jay Z's first album since Magna Carta in 2013. 4:44 will be available on June 30 exclusively to Tidal subscribers and Sprint users as part of their recently formed partnership. “Jay Z is a global icon and we’re giving customers an incredible opportunity to be among the first to experience his new album 4:44,” according to Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure.

The intriguing video of Hollywood beloved actors Mahershala Ali, Lupita Nyong’o, and Danny Glover should not be forgotten, however. It still remains unclear as to whether the film is a project of its own, or strong visual components to support the album (similar to Beyoncé's visual album Lemonade). As we await more answers, check out snippets of "Andis," a song off the upcoming album featured in the clip below.
