A shaved head, an ice coffin, manic friends, and an inflamed hotel room make up the first music video of Tove Lo’s sophomore album, for track “Cool Girl.” The instant song of the summer is a promising taste from a talented singer and songwriter. Lady Wood has been announced as the album title, and will hear collaborations from Wiz Khalifa and Joe Janiak.

Judging by the album art, Lady Wood is not a reference to Hollywood. Let your imagination wander and you'll figure it all out. The close up, and provocative, crotch shot comes with a scintillating font, too. If you closely, the “o” of Tove Lo is designed like a vulva (you don’t even have to squint to see it), and sees a cross at the bottom. What statement she’s trying to make isn’t exactly clear, but time will certainly tell.

Given the pieces of the “Cool Girl” video, the narrative will likely play out in visuals. And given the lackluster releases of a few pop stars lately, Tove Lo might be the new queen of pop.
