During his weekend set at Coachella, EDM star Martin Garrix called fellow teen heartthrob Troye Sivan to the stage to perform their new single, "There For You."

The song is a cross between a ballad and dance track, pairing Sivan's tender vocals with Garrix's beats. The result is a sonic love anthem, arriving just in time for summer. The collaboration came as no surprise to die-hard fans who caught a tease of the producer and singer in an Instagram story that appeared on Sivan's account.

Sivan's debut album, Blue Neighbourhood, received universal acclaim from critics. Many praised the openly gay singer's willingness to use male pronouns in his songs, something many of his predecessors shied away from. The chorus of "There For You" likewise sees the 21 year-old waxing romantic, with Sivan singing, "When your tears flow down your pillow like a river, I'll be there for you."
