V Are With Her

V endorses Hillary Clinton for President of the United States.

V endorses Hillary Clinton for President of the United States.

We at V have always been champions of those who dare to be different, of the strong and singular individuals who understand that, sometimes in order to change the status quo, you have to be willing to go against it. There is a reason, after all, that we speak of an artist’s integrity. When we acknowledge a great figure as having such qualities, we’re talking not only about their commitment to a chosen medium, we’re also underscoring their unyielding, uncompromising dedication to stay true to themselves, to who they are—even at the risk of ridicule and misunderstanding. And, ever since our first issue, V has held steadfast to it mission: providing a platform for the vanguards of tomorrow to share their visions of the future, today.

Over the years, many of the legendary figures V has profiled are themselves, vocal advocates for equality, resonant voices that draw upon their talents to push forward social and political causes that seek to make the world more fair and just—indeed, it’s one of the many reasons why we believe in them. But never before has V so directly engaged with the political landscape as we have this year with the release of V104, our Winter issue.

In a presidential election marked by one candidate’s racial bigotry, cultural insensitivity, and an attitude towards woman that we find contrary to our values of inclusion and cultural diversity, we at V cannot stay silent. To us, the choice is clear. Hillary Clinton is the only candidate whose vision for America—and our global community—reflects our commitment to championing the causes of those whose aim is to make the world a more joyful, free, and compassionate place. And indeed, for many of the artist who we have come to admire and honor in the pages of V, Hillary is their choice too—from Beyoncé and Lady Gaga to our current cover stars like Alicia Keys and Grimes.

As a platform dedicated to promoting the best in people, in heralding the power of diversity and the unity that comes from embracing it, V believes Hillary Clinton will work to make our country a place where each individual is recognized for the unique and beautiful person that they are. If you are with V, get out and vote on Tuesday, November 8, and show that you are with her.

Sincerely,

Mr. V
