Valentino to Debut Haute Couture in Venice

Everything you need to know about Valentino’s newest Haute Couture show Valentino Des Ateliers

Since the pandemic, Valentino has been holding the show digitally. This year,  choosing the Gaggiandre at the Arsenale in Venice as the location, the house continues the digital catwalks by presenting the Haute Couture collection, Valentino Des Ateliers, via worldwide Livestream on July 15 at 7:30 pm.

The first note of the show is sustaining culture. The cultural panorama of Venice sparks Pierpaolo Piccioli’s creativity. The Gaggiandre, consisting of two magnificent shipyards with a large internal dock, was built between 1568 and 1573. As a part of Arsenale, the largest production center in Venice during the pre-industrial era, it is the best representation to show cultural and historical significance.

The show will merge with the Theatre Festival La Biennale di Venezia by sponsoring the 49th International Theatre Festival, Biennale Teatro 2021, which lasts from the 2nd to the 11th of July 2021. Valentino’s creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli deliberately chose the Gaggiandre to present the show – featuring a functional-only setup, without any architectural intervention to the natural frame of the space, it’s a gesture of respect for the iconic and symbolic location.

Valentino never ceases to pursue eco-friendly initiatives and adopt increasingly responsible actions. The second note, of course, is generating positive changes in the environment and community. The show will be discovered through a special pure white visual streaming kit that considers sustainability for every part of the process. In accordance with the ISO 20121, the special kit involves sustainable materials, paper and cardboard from sustainably managed forest sources and is uniquely handcrafted in Milan. As for paper packaging for guests, yes, it’s 100% plastic-free!
