This weekend, Lana Del Rey took to Apple Music's stage at SXSW to perform an intimate show for some lucky fans. Among her setlist was the singer's new single, "Love," marking her first live rendition of the track (and from the surfaced videos, below, it sounds like she did the ballad justice). Clad in a floor-length white dress with a wide belt and long, flowing brown waves, her aesthetic was a perfect compliment to the song's sixties-inspired gospel of spreading love.

Of all the songs in Del Rey's ever-expanding catalogue, "Love" feels like a culmination for the singer, serving as an anthem for the generation coming of age today that at times feels helpless in the face of the world's archaic architecture, and yet unwavering in its desire to help change it. In other words, it's an ode to her fans, sending the message that in these moments of perceived futility, perhaps what we all need to remember is that being young and in love with the world is enough (or at least, the first step toward making any change). This is in line with Del Rey having said that her next album will be her most political yet, and that she made it for her followers. Her Instagram bio now reads: "You know where I've been, now let me show you where we're headed."

While you await more signs of the new album, watch clips of Del Rey's SXSW performance below.
