Remember 2004, when black nail polish, shrugs, and bedazzled flip-flops were in? Us, too. Although it was a dark time in fashion, it was a great time for pop music. We're talking tracks like Natasha Bedingfield's "Unwritten," Kelly Clarkson's "Because of You," Ashlee Simpson's "Pieces of Me," Usher's "Yeah!," and the list continues.

In that group of pop gold is JoJo's "Too Little Too Late," which still continues to rally disgruntled girlfriends and boyfriends. Turn the track on today, and watch as the room erupts at the chorus. The truth is that deep down there has always been a special place in the heart of the masses for JoJo, a fact proven by the positive reception of her 2011 rework of Drake's "Marvin's Room." Until now, messy drama with her former record label has kept the singer on an unofficial (and surely unwanted) hiatus for the last ten years, an injustice to audiophiles everywhere.

To kick off her return from the fringes, the singer just released her (aptly-titled) new single "F*ck Apologies" ft. Wiz Khalifa with an accompanying video, where the pop star has obviously moved from girl next door to femme fatale. This fall, she is dropping her studio album Mad Love (Oct 14), ten years after her last studio album, The High Road.

To revel in some nostalgia, and get amped for her exciting future, we trail the singer as she preps for her New York City show, and meets the fans that have always stood by her.
