GALLIANO THROWS SHADE
The couturier celebrates 25 years and branches out with a new eyewear collection

“Shades are not limited to summer, and nor are the Galliano moments you can have in them,” says famed designer John Galliano of his new range of sunglasses. And indeed—from rose tinted to black outs, Gazette prints, chunky logos, and intricate metal work—The Icon Collection works pretty much any day of the year. With visions of doe-eyed women and famous fashion muses, Galliano went back to his Latin heritage to create Les Biches, a selection of women's glasses with heavy plastic adornment and heavy hardware. Icon Homme has Galliano recalling his favorite rebels and heroes with shades fit for a '60s Hollywood rebel or modern-day rocker. As Galliano, who celebrates 25 years of high-octane glamour this year, notes, "Sunglasses are the ultimate accessory as well as the ultimate alibi. They are the status symbol that conceals the private gaze, and exposes only the glossy image you want to project.”

The Icon Collection will be available exclusively at the John Galliano boutique in Paris and select shops worldwide this month.
