THE TRACK: NO AGE

TEXT PATRIK SANDBERG

"I've never seen color act this way," sings drummer and vocalist Dean Spunt on the new track from No Age, "An Impression." Brief, bright, and burning, the tune similarly achieves what the duo has always done purely and perfectly, which is to evoke a staring-at-the-sun level of Southern California anguish through a youthful, self-destructive lens. Never quite bratty but not entirely grown-up either, No Age soundtracks bleak, urban, adult male emotional desolation, equal parts feverish and despondent.

This is what a harsh and beautiful adult summer sounds like.
