WHAT TO WEAR THIS NEW YORK FASHION WEEK

TEXT NATASHA STAGG

WE'VE GOT YOU COVERED FOR THE POLAR VORTEX THIS WEEK, WITH LAYERS, ACCESSORIES, AND FULL LOOKS THAT WILL KEEP YOU OUT OF THE COLD AND IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA

It's very, very, cold in New York (like, 0), and shows are taking place at the end of this week everywhere from isolated Lincoln Center (it's uptown, not down, that's out of the way these days), the wind-chilled Chelsea Piers and Brooklyn, near the East River. We know, you're dressing for the snowy weather anyway, but with traffic congestion levels increasing with your own—get some vitamin C and ginger in you before you head out to avoid a cold!—you’re going to have to prepare for some serious exposure. Alexander Wang’s show is all the way in the Brooklyn Navy Yard (you know, where Lady Gaga held the first Art Rave), and most of the shows will be at Lincoln Center, all along the Hudson in Chelsea, or Spring Studios here in SoHo. That means you’ll need all the winter essentials while you're hailing many a cab… and historically, your warmest gear hasn’t been you most photogenic. Don’t worry, we’ll help you accessorize for a week of protection from the tundra and brightness for the street-style paparazzi with some Pre-Fall 2014 and Winter 2013 classics.
